NEUROSURGEONS ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE GLOBAL PROMOTION OF NEUROSURGERY
Although COVID-19 has hampered our goals, WFNS Foundation education and donation of neurosurgical equipment have not been stopped. The WFNS Foundation was always active in offering philanthropic and transparent work.
Certainly, its activities have been pending since COVID in 2020, no new center has been created this year, but there are already 25 Post Graduate Training Centers, 5 Full Program Training Centers, 4 Short-Period Training Centers. Each committee has numerous Webinar Courses with a lot and good acceptance.
Note that the WFNS Foundation has made important donations of high-quality instrument sets and equipment for the Neurosurgery Units of different hospitals in developing countries. Until December 2021, the WFNS Foundation has shipped 59 neurosurgical kits to Asia and Australasia, 16 neurosurgical kits to the Middle East, 24 neurosurgical kits to Europe, 18 neurosurgical kits to Latin America, and 127 neurosurgical kits to Africa.
A total of 244 pieces of medical equipment such as Microscope Sets, Endoscope Sets, High-Speed Drill Sets, NS Basic Instrument Sets, Spinal Set, Cranial Sets, Bipolar Sets, etc. have been delivered.
Although 2021 was special and different, the WFNS Foundation has fulfilled strictly one of its objectives: to help, together with its sponsoring partners, in assisting neurosurgeons to improve the standards of neurosurgical procedures.
The WFNS Foundation is receiving many congratulations from different hospitals and countries that thank it for the care provided. This helps to encourage professionals to continue and serve their patients.
It´s not surprising that neurosurgeons find in the WFNS Foundation the support and impetus needed to reduce inequality in neurosurgical management between countries. It is a committed and very active Foundation acknowledged by all its members who highlight the integrative work of Teresa Chen.
